Create a traverse by defining a point of beginning and a point of closure, and then defining sides. 
- At the command line, enter 
	 CogoEditor. 
	 Note: If the 
		 Coordinate Geometry Editor dialog box is already open, click 
		   to clear the dialog box and create a new traverse. 
	  
 
- In the 
	 Coordinate Geometry Editor dialog box, specify the following data: 
	 
 
	 - Adjustment and Balance Rules—Adjustment method used when generating a traverse report. 
		
- Point of Beginning—Base point for the traverse. 
		
- Point of Closure—End point of the traverse, if the traverse is open. 
		
 Preview glyphs of the 
		 point of beginning and point of beginning and point of closure are displayed in the drawing. point of closure are displayed in the drawing.
 Note: Preview graphic colors may be configured through the 
		   Coordinate Geometry Editor Settings. 
	  
 
- Specify the 
	 Angle/Direction and 
	 Distance of the first line. 
	 Note:  The first side of a traverse must be a line. 
	  A preview of the line is displayed in the drawing. 
	  
- Specify subsequent Side Types, and then the requisite parameters.

- On the main toolbar, click 
	  to save the traverse to a TRV or TRVX file. to save the traverse to a TRV or TRVX file.
- Click 
	 Close.
