Set the DWF or DWFx File Compression

By default, the DWF or DWFx files that you create are in a compressed binary format. This is the recommended output for most DWF or DWFx files.

The compression does not result in any loss of data; this is the recommended output for most DWF or DWFx files. You can also create zipped ASCII encoded 2D stream (plain text) files. You specify these settings when you create or edit a configuration file.

Procedures

To specify the DWF or DWFx file compression

1. Click Home tab Output panel Plot.
2. In the Printer/Plotter area, in the Name list, select a DWF or DWFx plotting device. Click Properties.
3. In the Plotter Configuration Editor, Device and Document Settings tab, select Custom Properties from the tree window.
4. In the Access Custom Dialog area, click Custom Properties.
5. In the Properties dialog box, in the Additional Output Settings and in the DWF or DWFx Format area, specify a file compression option. Click OK.
6. In the Plotter Configuration Editor, click OK.
7. In the Changes to a Printer Configuration dialog box, do one of the following. Then click OK.
   • Select Apply Changes for the Current Plot Only to specify a one-time override of the configuration settings that isn't saved to the DWF or DWFx configuration file.
   • Select Save Changes to the Following File to save the configuration changes to the DWF or DWFx configuration file.
8. In the Browse for Plot File dialog box, in the Save In location list, select a plotting location for the DWF file, and click Save. Click OK.
