Importing Blackmagic RAW

You can now import Blackmagic Design (BMD) RAW media files.

Its default Tagged Colour Space is set to BMD Film/WideGamut Gen5. You can specify a different colour space. Use Format Specific Options > BMDRaw > Colour and select Colour Space and Gamma values to define the tagged colour space used in the application.

Note: Any combination of Colour Space and Gamma other than the ones listed above tags the clip with an Unknown colour space.

Sony Media Support Improvements

XAVC Colour Space

The Colour Space metadata from Sony XAVC MP4 media files is now available in MediaHub. This Colour Space metadata can be read from MP4 files generated by Sony Camera F-series and DSLR cameras.

Sony Venice Update

You can now import media files generated by Sony Venice updated to firmware 6 (November 2020). Earlier firmwares are still supported.

The updated firmware adds support for the following High Frame Rate formats:

  • 5.7K 16:9 up to. 72fps
  • 4K 6:5 up to. 72fps
  • 3.8K 16:9 up to 110fps

Support for SonyRAW Sharpness

You can now edit a SonyRAW file sharpness settings in:

  • MediaHub > Format Options > Debayering
  • Timeline > Timeline FX ribbon > Format Options > Format

Sharpness is not supported by older SonyRAW media files, such as files generated by Sony F65 cameras. Look at MediaHub > Preview > Metadata > Sharpness Option Active. Sharpness affects the media only if it says True.

Other Improvements

FBX: You can now import FBX version 2020.2 files.

Multi-channel default: Multi-Channel Clip is now the default import option in MediaHub for importing RGBA content.

OpenEXR: You can now import OpenEXR version 2.5.5 files.

Include YUV Headroom: The Include YUV Headroom option is now enabled by default for the Canon MXF, Panasonic, and Sony XDCAM formats.

Pixspan: Updated to 3.4.21.
