Design joint pins

Insert whole joint pin connection

  1. On the ribbon, click Design tab Fasten panel Joint Pin .
  2. On the Design tab:
    • Select the type of placement using the selection list in the Placement area.
    • Specify the pin diameter.
    • The generator designs holes or you can add a hole or delete anything.
    • Select the joint pin type from the Content Center.
      Note: You must be connected to the Content Center server and Content Center must be configured on your computers to be able to select joint pins.
  3. Click OK.
Note: You can switch to the Calculation tab to perform a calculation and strength check. The calculation is performed when you click Calculate.

Edit joint pin

Note: You can change the type of a pin but not the type of a hole.
  1. Open the Autodesk Inventor assembly with the already inserted Design Accelerator joint pin.
  2. Select the joint pin, right-click to display the context menu and select Edit Using Design Accelerator.
  3. Edit the joint pin. You can change dimensions of the joint pin or change parameters for calculation. If you changed calculation values, click Calculate to see if strength check is acceptable. Calculation results are displayed in the Results area. The inputs that fail the calculation are displayed in red (their value doesn't correspond with other inserted values or calculation criteria). Reports of the calculation are displayed in the Summary of Messages area which is displayed after clicking the chevron in the right lower part of the Calculation and Design tabs.
  4. Click OK.
