To Define Workpiece

Create a rectangular workpiece

  1. In the Core/Cavity tab, click Define Workpiece.
  2. In the Define Workpiece dialog box, Type list, select Rectangular.
  3. In the Reference list, select By Boundary Box.
    Note: Alternately, you can select By References in the Reference list to specify single or multiple references. Watch the following short animation for more information on the workpiece procedure.
  4. In the Workpiece Dimensions group, enter the required X, Y, and Z axis values.
  5. To lock the measurement of an axis, click the Lock button to the right of the axis total.
    Note: When an axis measurement is locked,you can change either the positive or negative setting. The corresponding value on the opposite end of the axis changes automatically, and the axis total measurement remains the same.
  6. Expand the Define Workpiece dialog box and select the Chamfer or Fillet foolproof feature.
  7. Select suitable corners to cut.
  8. Enter the chamfer distance or fillet radius for the selected corners.
  9. Click OK.

Create a cylindrical workpiece

  1. In the Core/Cavity tab, click Define Workpiece.
  2. In the Define Workpiece dialog box, Type list, select Cylinder.
  3. In the Reference list, select By Boundary Box.
    Note: Alternately, you can select By References in the Reference list to specify single or multiple references.
  4. In Workpiece Dimensions, enter the required cylinder diameter, and Z axis values.
  5. To lock the measurement of an axis, click the Lock button to the right of the axis total.
    Note: When an axis measurement is locked, you can change either the positive or negative setting. The corresponding value on the opposite end of the axis changes automatically, and the axis total measurement remains the same.
  6. Click OK

Edit a workpiece

  1. In the Mold Design browser, right-click a Workpiece node, and then click Edit Feature.
  2. In the Define Workpiece Setting dialog box, modify the settings.
  3. Click OK.
