You can override mass and volume properties for a part or assembly to adjust for true physical properties. With these adjustments, you can provide accurate volume and mass for items that are not represented in the model.
To override calculated properties
- In the graphics window or the browser, select the component to analyze.
- Right-click and select Edit in the context menu to activate the component.
- Right-click the component in the browser, and then select iProperties.
- In the iProperties dialog box, select the Physical tab, and then enter the override value.
- Click Apply.
Tip: To ensure accuracy of override values, you can print the Clipboard report to record the calculated values, and then use the data in the report to enter the override properties for the needed parts. This technique is useful when entering override values for a simplified representation of a part or assembly.
To reset calculated properties
As your focus changes during different design stages, you may want to remove general property override values and restore the calculated values.
- Select and delete the general property value you would like to reset.
- Click Apply.
