Cable and Harness Library import configuration file format

The configuration file defines the import format of the library data in a data file. The data file uses a locale-specific list separator, which is often a comma, for the column delimiter. For export of the various harness objects, the configuration file indicates what data is exported.

Required format

The format for the configuration file is as follows. Each item in the list refers to a single line in the file:

Object	Type of object contained in the input file. For library wires, the object is libwires. For library cables, the object is libcables. It is not case-sensitive.
LOGFILE	The output log file path and name. For example, C:\WireLibrary\libwires.log. If no path is listed, the log file is created in the same directory as the data file (.csv).
HEADER1 (Property Name)	Specifies the names of the input parameters. For library wire import, there must be a Wire Name, Display Appearance, and Outer Diameter. Other properties may exist in addition to the minimum required properties. For cables there must be a Cable Name, Outer Diameter (if blank Calculate Size From Wires is used), Wire Name (that exists in the current library), and Conductor ID. Other properties may exist in addition to the minimum required properties. No specific properties are required for exporting library wires and cables.
HEADER2 (Data Type)	Specifies the data type associated with the property name in the same column. It is the fourth line.
HEADER3 (Unit)	Specifies the unit of measure associated with the data type in the same column. It is the fifth line.

Configuration file units

Units must be appropriate for the data type specified for the given property name. If units are incorrect, the property is not added to the library object and an error message is listed in the import log file. For example, if inch is specified as the units for a property with type text, the property is ignored and a warning is reported.

Type must also correspond with the listed data type for a predefined property. If an incorrect type exists, the property is ignored and a warning is reported.
