To Check Vault Files In or Out with Task Scheduler

Creates and edits tasks to:

Available when Vault is installed, a vault project (.ipj) is active, and the vault mapping is set up for the project root and any libraries.

Note: The check out command does not check out child files from the vault unless they are the latest version. However, a copy of all child files is stored locally.
  1. In the Inventor Task Scheduler window, click Check Out from Vault or Check In to Vault.

    The information in the task list switches to show any check-out or check-in tasks you saved previously.

  2. In the Inventor Task Scheduler window, right-click, and select Create Task Check Out from Vault or Check In to Vault.

    In the Log In dialog box, enter your vault user name and password and the server name and database location.

  3. In the Check Out from Vault or Check In to Vault dialog, the active vault project is listed by default. Select any of these options:
    • Add Project . Available only if a vault project is active.
    • Add Folder . Specifies a folder within the active vault project to include in the task. Your selection includes the folder’s Inventor files and their dependencies. If you choose Add Folder, you have two further options: include subfolders (click in the Recursive column) and specify file types to include (click in the File Name column).
    • Add Files . Specifies individual files.
    • To change the output file type, click the Output File Name column and use the drop-down arrow or ellipsis button.
  4. (Optional) To control check in/check out settings, click Settings:
    • During check-out, to overwrite local writable files in the task with the latest version from the vault, select Overwrite Writable File.
    • During check-in, to create a DWF for files in the task, select Create DWF Attachment. To apply this attachment to all files in the task at check-in, select Apply to All Files.
  5. Specify a schedule, or select the Immediately option.
  6. Click Options.

    In the Check In to Vault Options dialog box, set the options to overwrite checked out files and to overwrite writable files, if necessary. Click OK.

  7. In the Check Out from Vault or Check In to Vault dialog box, click OK.
