Edit Parts List Layout or Content GOST (ESKD)

After creating the parts list, you can change the content. Options for editing include changing cell content, moving items to different locations in the parts list, and adding categories. After updating, or if you make a mistake, you can undo actions or redo actions you did not intend to do or undo.

Editing the parts list includes changing the content by adding or removing information, formatting the parts list, and changing the update behavior.

To edit the cell content, complete the following steps:

Note: Your changes are not permanent until you click OK and close the dialog box or until you place the parts list on the drawing.

Undo action

To reverse one or more actions, click Undo . Notice that Redo is activated when you use the undo action.

Redo action

To reverse an undo action, click Redo . Redo is activated only after Undo is used the first time.

Delete entry

  1. On the ribbon, click Annotate (ESKD) tabTable panelParts List .
  2. To delete an entry, choose of the following options:
    • Click the cell on the far left part of the dialog box. The entire row is highlighted.
    • Use your cursor to highlight the entry in a cell.
  3. Right-click to display a context menu.
  4. From the context menu, select Clear. The row or cell is cleared and highlighted in yellow.

Add static value

To protect the values in parts list cells from inadvertent updates, set them as a Static Value.

  1. Right-click a parts list and select Edit Part List.
  2. In the Edit Parts List dialog box, select a row or cells to make static.
  3. Right-click the selection, and then choose the Static Value option.
Note: Static cells are outlined in blue.
Note: To enable automatic update, deselect the Static Value option for the cell.

Move item to new category

  1. In the Parts List, right-click a row header to display the context menu.
  2. From the context menu, click Move to Category. A submenu appears with a list of categories.
  3. In the submenu, click the new category. The row is moved under the new category.
Note: You cannot use Move Up or Move Down to move a row to a new category.

Save item overrides to BOM

  1. Right-click a row or in any cell. A context menu appears.
  2. From the context menu, click Save Item Overrides to BOM.
Note: After the saving the item override, the cell display returns to normal indicating that the BOM and parts list are in sync.

Add category

  1. In the Parts List, right-click a category row. A context menu appears.
  2. From the context menu, click Add Category. A submenu appears with a list of categories.
  3. From the submenu, click a category name. The new category is added in the appropriate location as defined by GOST.
Note: A category called Custom Category appears on the submenu. Directions for adding a custom category appear in the following procedure.

Add custom category

  1. In the Parts List, right-click a category row. A context menu appears.
  2. From the context menu, click Add Category Custom Category. A new row is added to the bottom of the table with Custom Category as the category heading.
  3. To insert the custom category name, click the cell. Highlight the temporary name and type the new name.

Remove category

  1. In the Parts List, right-click a category row. A context menu appears.
  2. From the context menu, click Remove Category. The category row is removed from the list.
Note: The rows below the removed category are moved to the category directly above.

Renumber category

  1. In the Parts List, right-click a category row. A context menu appears.
  2. From the context menu, click Renumber Category. The items in the category are automatically renumbered. New item numbers are outlined in blue with a yellow background.

Sort category

  1. In the Parts List, right-click a category row. A context menu appears.
  2. From the context menu, click Sort Category. The items in the category are automatically sorted in alphabetical order.

From the Parts List dialog box toolbar, click Sort All. A context menu appears. The items in the parts list are automatically sorted in alphabetical order.

Renumber all items

From the Parts List dialog box toolbar, click Renumber All. The items in the parts list are automatically renumbered. New item numbers are outlined in blue with a yellow background.

Renumber contiguous rows

  1. In the Parts List dialog box, highlight the rows you want to renumber.
  2. After highlighting, right-click in the highlighted rows. A context menu appears.
  3. From the context menu, click Renumber. The highlighted rows are renumbered. New item numbers are outlined in blue with a yellow background.

Insert empty row

When you use the toolbar to insert an empty row, the empty row is always added above the selected row.

  1. In the Parts List dialog box, highlight the row where you want to add the empty row.
  2. From the toolbar, click Insert Row. A new row is added above the selected row.

Change parts list table settings

  1. From the Parts List dialog box, click Table Settings. The Settings dialog box appears.
  2. In the Items section, you can choose the following options:
    • Start from - Item start number for automatic numbering.
    • Increase by - Increase item number by the specified amount.
    • Skip after Category - Skip the specified number when moving to the next category.
  3. In the Line Skip section, you can choose the following options:
    • Lines to Skip after Category - Add specified number of empty lines after each category.
    • Skip Line after Each Part - When checked, insert an empty line after each part.
    • Click Apply to apply the Line Skip options.
  4. In the Export Template section, accept the default Excel template used to export the parts list or use the browse command to locate a different template.
  5. In the Page Wrap section, you can choose the following layout options for placing the table on the drawing:
    • Click Page Wrap to accept the default page wrap options.
    • Click Automatic Wrap to override the default options by wrapping the table based on one of the following options:

      Maximum Rows - Total number of rows allowed in the table before it is wrapped.

      Number of Sections - The total number of column sections allowed in the table before it is wrapped.

  6. From the Direction to Wrap Table options, choose to place the wrapped section of the table to the Left or Right of the first table section.
