You unfold sheet metal features relative to a plane at the end of the material, or unfold bends or rolls relative to a face.
Important: The unfold command requires a single body in a part file. If the part file contains multiple solid bodies, use Make Components or Make Part to export the bodies to a unique part file. Open the new part file to unfold the part.
- On the ribbon, click Sheet Metal tab Modify panel Unfold .
- Do one of the following:
- For sheet metal bends or rolls relative to a face, click a face or plane to use as the unfold reference.
- For rolled sheet metal features relative to a plane at the end of the rolled material, click a temporary plane at either end to use as the unfold reference.
- Select highlighted bends or rolls to unfold.
- Preview the flattened state, and add or delete bends or rolls to obtain the desired flat.
- Click the Sketches arrow, and select any unconsumed sketches to unfold.
- (Optional) To display the parent sketch for bends or rolls relative to a face that has a sketch, select Parent is Visible.
