Enables you to add nodes to selected beams.
Access: |
Ribbon: Frame Analysis tab Connections panel Custom Node |
You can place custom nodes anywhere on the beam. You can place a force in the middle of the beam, as needed.
Custom nodes are not graphically different from automatically converted nodes in the browser. You can customize the display of custom nodes in the graphics window. In the General tab of the Frame Analysis Settings dialog box, select the display color for nodes and custom nodes.
Origin | The command is active when the dialog box is displayed. Select beam on which to add a node. When you specify the origin, the OK and Apply buttons in the dialog box activate.
Offset | Specify the offset of the node.
Relative, Absolute |
Select if the offset value is entered as relative, or absolute. The relative distance means factor of absolute distance from the beam beginning. The value can be from 0 to 1. For example, if you have a 3-inch long beam and you set relative distance to 0.5 ul, the absolute origin distance is computed to 1.5 inch. |
|
OK | Create the node and close the dialog box.
Cancel | Close the dialog box without creating the node.
Apply | Create the node and keep the dialog box open. Click when you want to create multiple nodes. |
