Set up properties of a synchronous pulley.
Access: |
Ribbon: Design tab Power Transmission panel Synchronous Belts and click the Design tab. On the Pulleys section, click Pulley Properties. |
OK |
Click to confirm the selection and close the dialog box. Enters the values for the Design tab. |
Cancel |
Closes the dialog box. |
You can modify pulley properties such as position and number of teeth by using drag and drop. Modification of the pulley center position is described above. To modify the number, drag and drop the pulley circle within the preview. By default the number of teeth can be changed only along with standard (recommended) values. Use CTRL + drag to set a non-standard number of teeth for the pulley. |
|
To more precisely control dimensions and properties of pulley for analysis, double-click the pulley within the preview, or use within the dialog box. |
|
The transmission requires a minimum of two synchronous pulleys. All others can be flat idlers. |
|
Design Guide |
Designs pulley size based on the transmission ratio rather than setting up the driven pulley size manually. For standard driven pulleys the generator finds the closest pulley size to accomplish the transmission ratio. |
Custom size |
Specifies custom pulley size. By default the pulley size is standard and is driven by a data table stored within Design Data folder. The data template is fast and easy way to set up pulley size by a change of the diameter of the pulley. If the custom size option is on, you are responsible for all pulleys' properties. |
Power ratio |
Power ratio magnitude is from 0.0 to 1.0, depending on what corresponds to the amount of power that is distributed by a given pulley. If the power ratio is 0.0, it is an idler even if it is a synchronous pulley. The first pulley (driveR) always has 100% power so the power ratio is 1.0. |
Flange type |
Specifies the flange type of the synchronous pulley. This option is available only if the custom size option is switched on. Otherwise the flange type is specified within standard data table. |
You can change belt direction counterclockwise to change of motion direction. |
