To Modify Fittings in Flexible Hose Routes

To modify fittings in flexible hose routes you change the fitting settings in the associated style, including start fitting, end fitting, ,and flexible conduit part. Start and end fittings must be tube and pipe components with two connections.

Change flexible hose fittings

You can replace the start and end fittings for the selected flexible hose style with other compatible fittings.

  1. Activate the hose route or pipe run containing the hose assembly.
  2. On the ribbon, click Pipe Run tab Manage panel Tube and Pipe Styles or on the context menu of the graphics window.
  3. In the Tube & Pipe Styles dialog box, click the Fittings tab.
  4. Click the arrow next to the Fitting Types list, and select the fitting type to change.
  5. Click Browse. In the Library Browser dialog box, navigate to and select the appropriate fitting.
  6. Optionally, repeat Steps 3 through 5 to change the other fitting.
  7. Click Save or Apply.
  8. Click OK or Cancel.

Associations of the new fittings to any existing connections are retained, and the position and direction of hose ends is updated accordingly.

Suppress flexible hose fittings

Fittings included in a flexible hose route cannot be deleted from the browser or the graphics window. Flexible hose fittings are removed by editing the flexible hose style. To remove the start, end, or both fittings from a flexible hose route, you must suppress the fitting.

  4. Click the arrow next to the Fitting Types list and select the fitting type to suppress.
  5. Select the Suppress Fitting check box.
Note: If you suppress the start fitting, the end fitting is automatically suppressed. When suppressing a single fitting, it must be the end fitting.
  6. Click Save or Apply.
  7. Optionally, repeat Steps 4 through 6 to suppress the other fitting.
  8. Click OK or Cancel.

You can redefine and move the end route point where the fitting was removed.

If a flexible hose style does not have a start or end fitting specified, you can add the fittings by editing the style.

  1. Activate the hose route or pipe run containing the hose assembly.
  2. On the ribbon, click Pipe Run tab Manage panel Tube and Pipe Styles or on the context menu of the graphics window.
  3. In the Tube & Pipe Style dialog box, click the Fittings tab.
