Use the Leader Text dialog box to add multiple lines of text with a leader. The text has limited formatting such as left or right justification. New text lines are added one at a time. Text is associated to different properties selected in the Associative Text frame and to technical requirements.
Add leader text
- On the ribbon, select the Annotate (ESKD) tab Text panel Leader Text .
- In the graphics window, click to set the starting point for the leader line. If you place the point on a highlighted edge or point, the leader line is attached to the edge or point.
To create an extension line, drag the attachment point for the leader along an edge.
- Move the cursor and click to add a vertex to the leader line. You can add as many vertices as necessary.
- Right-click the location for the text, and click Continue.
- In the Associative Text frame, choose the appropriate properties. The Add Text Parameter command is enabled. Add text as needed. The Precision field is not active unless you select Physical Properties Model from the Type drop-down list.
- To format the leader line text, click Align Left, Center, or Align Right. Align Left is the default.
- Click the Down Arrow beside Insert Symbol to select a symbol to add.
- In the Text section, add the text you want to include.
- Click Insert Landing Line below, or Insert Landing Line above to insert a line under or above the text in the drawing.
- Click OK.
Note: Changing the text formatting in the dialog box overrides the text substyle of the dimension style for this text only. To change the default formatting for all text, modify the specified text substyle or change the object defaults style to specify a different dimension style.
Edit leader text
- Select the leader text, right-click, and select Edit Leader Text.
- In the Leader Text dialog box, click in the text box to set the insertion point. Delete, add text, or use the options on the dialog box to add symbols and named parameters, or change the text formatting.
- Click OK.
