Post-weld machining operations are performed on the weldment assembly after the preparations and weld beads are applied to the weldment. Holes and extruded cuts are typical post-weld machining features.
To create machining features in the weldment, you activate the Machining group and add the needed assembly features . When you activate the Machining group, the weldment advances to that point in the weldment. Assembly features can be added to the Machining group at any time.
Edges and weld features that are affected by a post-weld machining feature such as a cut, update to show the result. If the machining feature affects the geometry to which the welding symbol is attached, the symbol automatically updates to accommodate the change.
