Import table data from an existing spreadsheet.
Create a table using an .xls or .xlsx file as the data source
- On the ribbon, click
Annotate tab
Table panel
General .
- In the Table dialog box, click Browse to locate a Microsoft Excel (.xls or .xlsx) file to use as a data source.
Note: Make sure that the Excel sheet is in the current project. Change the Files of type to Microsoft Office Excel Workbook (.xls, .xlsx).
- In the Data Start Cell field, specify the cell from which to start referencing data for the table.
- Specify the column header row.
- Click OK to place the table on the drawing sheet.
Unless you specify a different name within the Table style, the table inherits the name of the selected source file. Column names are derived from the source row indicated by the Column Header Row.
Create a table using a .csv file as the data source
- On the ribbon, click
Annotate tab
Table panel
General .
- In the Table dialog box, click Browse to locate a .csv file to use as a data source.
- If appropriate, clear the Use First Row for Column Headers check box.
- Click OK to place the table on the drawing sheet.
