Add an appearance by duplicating an appearance and modifying the properties.
From the Appearance Browser
Click Tools tab Material and Appearance panel Appearance . The Appearance Browser displays.
In the Document Appearance list, right-click the appearance you want to duplicate, and click Duplicate.
Double-click the new appearance to edit it. Alternatively, right-click the new appearance and click Edit.
Modify the appearance name and any parameters, as necessary.
Close the Appearance Editor.
From the Appearance Editor
Click Tools tab Material and Appearance panel Appearance . The Appearance Browser displays.
Select the library containing the appearance you want to duplicate.
In the Library appearance list, pause the cursor over an appearance. At the right, click . The appearance is added to the document, and opens for editing.
In the Appearance Editor toolbar, click , and then click Duplicate Appearance. An appearance is created using the selected appearance. New appearances have the same name as the appearance they were created from, with a number appended.
Modify the appearance name and any parameters, as necessary.
Close the Appearance Editor.
