Enables you to split selected shaft section in Shaft Component Generator. The length of the shaft remains unchanged.

Power Transmission panel Shaft. In the Design tab, click Split Selected Section in the Sections toolbar

Select the section either in 2D preview of the Design tab or in the graphics window and click Split Section. Cylinder dialog box is displayed with two Section Length edit fields. One of them is enabled because its length is automatically changed based on dimension inserted in the enabled Section Length field.
By default, the selected shaft section is split in half. You can change the dimensions of divided sections by clicking an enabled Section Length value. The other half, split section is calculated according to the inserted value. For example, the original length of the section is 80 mm. When you select the Split Section command, the Cylinder dialog box displays. Section Length L1 is 50 mm and is enabled for edit. Section Length L2 edit is 50 mm and is disabled for edit. Change the value in Section Length L1 edit field to 30 mm. Section Length L2 value automatically changes to 70 mm. Remember that length of the split section remains the same. In the Cylinder dialog box, click OK.
In the graphics window, it is possible to change the section length without changing the length of the shaft. Select the cylinder and hold the Ctrl key while dragging the 3D grip. You change the dimension of the section but not whole length of shaft.
