Splice Properties dialog box

Adds, modifies, and removes properties on selected splice occurrences, and assigns or removes virtual parts. Also displays information on wires connected to the splice for reference.

Access:

With the harness assembly active, select the splice to edit from the browser or graphics window, right-click, and then select Harness Properties from the context menu.

Occurrence tab

RefDes

Sets an unique identifier that maps the splice to the schematic design. The RefDes is required for each splice.

General tab

Name	Library name of the selected splice.
Category	Category in which the splice is organized, if applicable.
Part Number	Part number for the selected splice.
Number of Pins	Number of pins on the splice.
Embedded Length	Default embedded length of the selected splice.
None, Range, or Fixed	Sets or displays whether a range of values or a fixed value is allowed for the gauge or size of wires inserted into the splice.
Min Gauge	When set to Range, displays the smallest gauge for the wires inserted into the selected splice.
Max Gauge	Sets or displays the largest gauge for the wires inserted into the selected splice. When set to Fixed only maximum gauge is allowed.
Min Core Size	Sets or displays the smallest core size as a diameter for the wires inserted into the selected splice.
Max Core Size	Sets or displays the largest core size as a diameter for the wires inserted into the selected splice. When set to Fixed only maximum core size is allowed.

Wires tab

Lists the wire ID, appearance, and gauge of all wires attached to the splice. Double-click any row to display the properties dialog box for that wire.

Virtual Parts tab

Type	Selects the type of virtual part, such as terminal or loom.
Category	Selects the category in which the desired virtual part is located (optional). The last selection becomes the new default.
Name	Selects the name of the desired virtual part in the Cable & Harness Library. The last selection becomes the new default.
Add	Adds a new virtual part to the list.
Delete	Removes the selected virtual part from the list.
Virtual part list	Lists the virtual parts assigned to the selected object along with their type, category, and name.

Custom tab

Name	Displays the entered property name. Click in the input area to enter a new property, or if available, click the arrow to select from the list.
Type	Data type for the selected property. Click the arrow to select a data type from the list.
Value	Sets the value for the selected property.
Add	Adds a new property to the list.
Modify	Changes the selected property's name, type, or value.
Delete	Removes the selected property from the list.
