To Create a Fold in a Sheet Metal Face

A fold on a sheet metal face forms about a straight sketched bend line that terminates at face edges.

Unlike the bend, flange, contour flange, or hem features, which all add material to the design, the fold feature does not add material.

  1. On the ribbon, click Sheet Metal tab Create panel Fold .
  2. Click the bend line to use for the fold.
  3. In Fold Location, click one of the following to specify whether the line defines the centerline, start, or end of the bend:
    • Centerline of Bend . Specifies the sketch line as the centerline of the bend.
    • Start of Bend or End of Bend or . Specifies the sketch line that is the start or end of the bend.
  4. In the Bend Radius and Fold Angle drop-down lists, specify the bend radius and the angle to apply to the fold.
  5. In Flip Controls, set the side and direction of the fold:
    • Flip Side . Changes the side of the bend line to fold up or down.
    • Flip Direction . Changes the up/down direction of the fold.
