You can copy or move geometry within a part file to composites, base surfaces, a repair body or a group in the construction environment.

When editing a part file within the assembly, you can copy geometry from one part to another, associatively, as a surface or composite feature. These features update automatically when updates are made to the original source data.

to switch to Faces selection.
To maintain an adaptive relationship with the source part, ensure the Associative check box is selected. Leave it unselected if association is not needed.
New Object. Creates a new object.
Join. Select an existing object. The new object is part of the selected object.
Surface is selected by default. Creates a Surface Bodies folder in the browser, a Base Surface feature for every body or every set of contiguous faces of a single body selected.
Repaired Geometry creates a Repaired Geometry folder in the browser and populates it with a copy of the face as a composite feature. A Surface Bodies folder is also created and populated with a copy of the surface.
Group creates a Construction folder in the browser and populates it with a Group containing one or more surfaces.
