Create Chamfers

- On the Chamfer tab, select a method:
- Distance. Defines a chamfer with the same offset distance from the edge on both faces. Selects a single edge, multiple edges, or chained edges. You can specify corner setback appearance:
- Distance and Angle. Defines a chamfer by an offset from an edge and an angle from one face to the offset. You can chamfer any edge or all edges of a selected face at once:
- Two Distances . Creates a chamfer on one or more edges with a specified distance for each face. You can chain edges together:
- Select the edge, edges or face and edges to chamfer.
- Specify the extent of the chamfer:
- Distance. Specifies offset distance of chamfer from selected edge or edges. When two distances define a chamfer, specifies both offsets.
- Angle. When a distance and angle define a chamfer, specifies the angle of the chamfer.
- (Optional) If you choose the two-distance method to define the chamfer, click Flip to change the direction of the chamfer distances.
- If edges intersect at a tangent point, specify the edge chain condition by clicking More and choosing one of the following:
- All Tangentially Connected Edges. Includes all tangent edges in the chamfer.
- Single Edge. Select one edge at a time.
- (Optional) If three or more intersecting edges are selected, specify setback appearance by clicking More and choosing one of the following:
- Setback
. Joins the chamfer at a flat intersection.
- No Setback
. Forms a corner point at the intersection, as if milled on three edges.
- Click OK.
Create Partial Chamfers
Create a partial chamfer by defining the location of the start and end vertexes along an existing chamfer edge. The settings on the Partial tab allow you to terminate a chamfer at a specific distance along an edge. You create a partial chamfer by defining the location of the start and end vertexes along an existing chamfer edge.
After clicking a point on an edge to define the end point, you can change the driven dimension type to To End, To Start, or Chamfer, using the new Set Driven Dimension drop-menu. The default driven dimension type is To End. 3 parameters are created, one of which is a reference parameter based on the selected driven dimension setting.

- Select the Chamfer tab, and in the graphics window select the chamfer to modify.
- Select the Partial tab, and then click an edge to create the end vertex, and the start vertex is created automatically.
- As needed, change the driven dimension type to To End, To Start, or Chamfer, using the Set Driven Dimension drop-menu. The default driven dimension type is To End.
- To End is the distance from end of edge to end of chamfer. The Start and Chamfer length are fixed and do not change when the edge length changes. Only the End length will be updated.
- Chamfer
is the chamfer length. The Start and End length are fixed and do not change when the edge length changes. Only the Chamfer length will be updated.

To Start
is the distance from start of edge to start of chamfer. The End and Chamfer length are fixed and do not change when the edge length changes. Only the Start length will be updated.
- Total is the total length of the edge(s). This value is only for your reference.
- Use the following methods to edit the start and end value:
- Manually drag the start and end ball in the graphics window.
- Click in the Start and End fields and enter the desired value.
Note: To remove a row a partial chamfer, right-click a row in the table, and select Clear.
- Click OK.
3 parameters are created, one of which is a reference parameter based on the selected driven dimension.
Editing a Chamfer
- In the graphics window or the browser, right-click the feature and choose
Edit Feature. The feature sketch (if applicable) and the feature dialog box displays.
- Change values for the size or angle of geometry.
