To Add Cable Tray Connector to Model

Create a cable tray connector.

A cable tray is an assembly of segments and fittings forming a rigid structural system that fastens or supports cables, wires, and raceways securely.

  1. On the ribbon, click Environments tab Begin panel BIM Content .
  2. On the BIM Content tab MEP Connectors panel , click Cable Tray Connector ,

    or

    In the browser, expand the MEP System Connections icon, right-click the Cable node, and click Add Connector.

  3. In the Cable Tray Connector dialog box, select a shape for the connector.
    Note: If you select Undefined, you can select any oval, circular, or rectangular face.
  4. Select a face to place and position the connector. The location of the connector appears as a cylindrical arrow on the selected Autodesk Inventor part or assembly.
    If necessary, click the Direction command to reverse the connector direction.
    Important: Connectors do not indicate direction. They indicate a mating face or plane. Generally, connectors should point away from the solid body component face or opening.
  5. Optionally, clear the Inferred check box next to the size boxes, and enter values.

    If the box is not selected, the size values are static. If the box is selected, the size values are linked to the size of the selected face.

  6. Select the connection type from the Connection Type drop-down list.
  7. To continue to add connectors, click Apply. To create the connector and close the dialog box, click OK.
