Insert connector parts

Connector parts are placed and constrained in an assembly just as you place and constrain standard Autodesk Inventor parts. They can be placed from the Content Center or by using the assembly Place Component command. Once placed, and a harness assembly is added, you can also set a reference designator (RefDes) for each part occurrence.

Locate a connector from Content Center

  1. Activate the assembly to receive the connector.
  2. On the ribbon, click Assemble tab Component panel Place from Content Center .
  3. In the Place from Content Center dialog box, navigate to the connector part family and double-click the part family.

The Part Family dialog box is displayed.

  4. Select the needed member of the connector part family.
  5. Review other parameters of the selected library part on the Table View and Family Info tabs.
  6. To complete selecting the part, click OK.
