Edit, delete, group, refresh and hide or display AutoLimits.
Use browser context menu options to edit AutoLimits in Part, Assembly, Weldment assembly, 2D Sketch, 3D Sketch, and Sheet Metal (except flat patterns).
Tip: Ensure that the selection filter is set to Feature Priority to ease selection of the AutoLimits glyphs. On the Quick Access toolbar, on the Select drop-down menu, click Feature Priority.
Create Group for Related AutoLimits
- Right-click the top node in the AutoLimits browser, and select Create Group.
- In the group folder that appears at the bottom of the browser tree, do any of the following:
- To copy AutoLimits, right-click an AutoLimit node and select Copy. Right-click the group folder and select Paste.
- To turn all AutoLimits on or off in the folder, right-click the group node and select Visibility.
Delete AutoLimits
You can delete individual AutoLimits, groups, or both. Empty user-defined group folders before you delete them.
- Do any of the following in the AutoLimits browser:
- To delete an individual AutoLimit, right-click it and select Delete.
- To delete all AutoLimits in a category group, right-click the group folder and select Delete. The group remains in the browser.
- To delete all AutoLimits in a user-defined group, right-click the group and select Delete. The group and the AutoLimits are deleted.
- To delete all individual AutoLimits in the browser and all user-defined groups, right-click the top AutoLimits node and select Delete. All other category groups remain in the browser.
Edit AutoLimits
- In the AutoLimits browser, right-click an AutoLimits node and select Edit AutoLimits.
- In the AutoLimits dialog, redefine the geometry to monitor.
- On the Boundary tab, do any of the following:
- Change Lower or Upper to reset the lower and upper limits.
- Click to add another boundary.
- Right-click in a row and delete a boundary.
- Select a row and click Level to change to a different boundary type (acceptable, warning, or serious warning).
- On Display Precision, click the arrow to select a new precision level.
Control AutoLimits Visibility
You can turn visibility off for AutoLimits that have visibility turned on in the AutoLimit Settings. If visibility is set to Off in the settings, you cannot switch it On in the browser.
- If necessary, click Inspect tab AutoLimits panel AutoLimits Settings and turn on visibility.
- Right-click a node in the AutoLimits browser and select Visibility. Only the selected AutoLimit is affected.
To avoid clutter in the graphics window, AutoLimits display only at the level where you create them. For example, parts AutoLimits are not visible in an assembly.
Refresh AutoLimits
When Realtime Refresh is on, the system monitors and updates changes to AutoLimits. However, in large assemblies with several AutoLimits, avoid refreshing AutoLimits constantly; instead, update AutoLimits manually.
- To turn Realtime Refresh off, right-click the top-level AutoLimits node in the browser and deselect Realtime Refresh.
- To update AutoLimits manually, click Inspect tab AutoLimits panel Refresh
- To turn Realtime Refresh on again, right-click the top-level AutoLimits node in the browser and select Realtime Refresh.
Show or Hide Boundary Settings in the AutoLimits Browser
- To show all boundary settings for each limit type (OK, Warning, and Serious Warning), right-click an AutoLimits node and select Expand All Children.
- To hide boundary settings, right-click an AutoLimits node and select Collapse All Children.
