To Set Appearances of Tube and Pipe Parts in 3D Orthogonal Route Tool

You can adjust the appearances of the 3D Orthogonal Route tool for better visibility. Each tube and pipe assembly file contains its own resources for appearances and lighting styles.

You will probably use the same appearances in most of your tube and pipe assemblies. To automatically include custom appearances in your tube and pipe assemblies when they are created, consider creating a custom appearance library. Be sure to include the Appearance library in your project file.

  1. Open an existing or new tube and pipe assembly file with at least one route.
  2. Activate the Tube & Pipe Runs assembly.
  3. On the ribbon, click Tools tab Material and Appearance panel Appearance .
  4. In the Library pane, click Autodesk Inventor Material Library, and then scroll to view and select a Route_UI_Tool_toolname appearance from the list. If you want, you can edit the appearance at this time.
  5. Click Save.
  6. To apply changes to the 3D Orthogonal Route tool immediately, click Ok if in the Appearance Editor or close the Appearance Browser. Unapplied changes become effective when you close the dialog box.
