Axial Moment

Applies an axial moment of a specified magnitude to a beam you select.

Axial moment is applied in the plane perpendicular to the beam axis. It is defined in beam coordinate system only.

Access:

Ribbon: Frame Analysis tab Loads panel Axial Moment
Origin The command is active when the dialog box is displayed. Select a beam on which to apply the load. When you specify the origin, the other options in the dialog box activate.
Magnitude Set the magnitude of the axial moment.
Offset Specify the offset of the axial moment.
OK Create the load and close the dialog box.
Cancel Close the dialog box without creating the load.
Apply Create the load and keep the dialog box open. Click when you want to create multiple loads.
(More) Expands the dialog box to reveal additional controls for specifying the force vector.
Coordinate System

Specify the coordinate system where the force is acting.

Offset

Select if the offset value is entered as relative, or absolute.

The relative distance means factor of absolute distance from the beam beginning. The value can be from 0 to 1. For example, if you have 3-inch long beam and you set relative distance to 0.5 ul, the absolute origin distance is computed to 1.5 inch.
