Apply parameters for behavior and appearance to documents.
The document type determines the tabs available in the dialog.
- On the ribbon Tools tab Options panel click Document Settings.
- In the Document Settings dialog box, click a tab:
- Standard - applies to all document types, exceptions are noted. You can set:
- Active Lighting Style (not in Drawings)
- Display Appearance (not in Drawings) which includes parameters for edge display, visual style, various shadows, reflection, ground plane, and projection.
- Physical Material (Part only)
- Virtual Components (Assembly and Drawing only)
- Active annotation standard (not in Presentations)
- Default Weld Standard (Weldment assemblies only)
- Default 3da Standard (Weldment assemblies only)
- Units - applies to part, assembly, or presentation files. You can set:
- Units of measure
- Modeling Dimension Display
- Default Parameter Input Display (not Presentations)
- Sketch - applies to Part, Assembly, and Drawings. You can set:
- Set snap spacing for 2D sketches
- Grid display - snaps per minor grid, minor lines per major grid
- Lineweight display options
- Modeling - applies to Part and Assembly, including Weldments. You can set:
- Adaptivity
- Compact model history (Part only)
- Advanced Feature Validation
- Enhanced graphics detail
- Section participation (Part only)
- Tapped Hole Diameter
- UCS
- 3D Snap spacing
- Initial view extents. The setting affects the view only on file creation. You can set it in your template file.
- Name prefixing (Part only)
- Make Components dialog options (Part only)
- Repair Environment (Part only) default error check
- Interactive contact (Assembly only)
- Drawing applies to Drawings only. You can set:
- Defer updates
- Cross hatch clipping
- Automated Centerlines
- Invalid annotation behavior
- Shaded view parameters
- Dimension updates parameter
- Drawing properties model property source
- Copy Model iProperty settings
- Sheet - applies to Drawings only. You can set:
- Default sheet label
- Sheet color
- Bill of Materials - applies to Part, Assembly, and Weldments. You can set:
- Default BOM structure
- Unit Quantity
- Base quantity
- Base Unit
- Default Tolerance - applies to Part only. You can set option to:
- Use standard tolerance values
- Export standard tolerance value
- Specify linear and angular tolerances
- Enter the settings.
- Click Apply to save the changes.
