To Import SDF 2 Files

SDF 2 files can only be imported (and exported). They cannot be accessed using Data Connect. SDF 3 files use Data Connect.

To import SDF 2 files

  1. In the Planning And Analysis workspace, click Insert tabImport panelSDF2.
  2. Select a file. Click Open.
  3. In the SDF Import dialog box, under Import Layer, select the target AutoCAD layer for the SDF information.

    To create a new AutoCAD layer, click Create New Layer. In the New Layer dialog box, specify a name for the new layer.

  4. Under Coordinate Conversion, select Convert From. Enter a coordinate system code.

    To select the code from a list, click Select Coordinate System.

  5. Under Data Elements, select Assign To Object Data Table. Specify the object data table and fields.

    To create a new table or field, click Create New Table or Create New Field.

    In the Define New Object Data Table dialog box or Define New Object Data Field dialog box, specify the information for the new table or field.

  6. Under Import By Location, select Define An Area To Import From The SDF File and enter the coordinates for the area to import.
  7. Click OK.
