Use this dialog box to select the type of data and the source for the data when you attach data to node or linear objects as they are digitized.
Select Object Datato use data in an object data table in the current drawing. Select Database Link to use data in an external database.
If you are using data from an object data table, select the table.
If you are using data from an external database, select the link template associated with that database.
To associate databases to link templates, use the Define Link Template dialog box.
As AutoCAD Map 3D toolset digitizes your drawing, it prompts you for the key value to associate with each object. Select the validation option to use.
To attach data to node or linear objects, make sure the Attach Data option is selected on the Digitize Setup dialog box.
Check the database for the key value you specify. If AutoCAD Map 3D toolset does not find a match, it prompts you for a new key value.
Check the database for the key value you specify. If AutoCAD Map 3D toolset does not find a match, it creates a new row in the database. You will be prompted to enter information for all the columns in the new row.
Associate the specified key value with the object whether or not the key value matches a row in the database.
