Maya’s controls for developing the timing of animations include the Time Slider, Range Slider, Playback Controls and Playback Options. You can also quickly access and edit animation preferences from the Playback options area.
Between the Range Slider and the Playback Options are the Current Character and Current Animation Layer menus which show any Character sets and Animation layers used in the scene. See Set the current character set and Animation Layers for more information.
The Time Slider controls the playback range, keys, and breakdowns within the playback range. The blue stripe along the bottom of the Time Slider is the Cached Playback status line, , and the coloured stripes along the top are Time Slider Bookmarks.
