The default (Nice) attribute names in these editors are easy to read, but cannot be used in expressions or MEL scripts. To show the actual internal names of the attributes, use the Long or Short options. See Attribute names.
In the Channel Box, select the option you want from Edit > Channel Names.
In the Attribute Editor and Node Editor, select the option you want from Display > Attribute Names.
