Guide Based Preset Options
Available only when the selected XGen preset includes guides.
- Generate Guides By
- Set to
Transfer guides from preset to new target to use guide shape and position from the preset file.
Set to Place guides manually to ignore the preset's guide information. Use the Add or Move guides tool or a utility (see XGen Utilities options) to create guides.

UV based places guides using the UVs of the target surface.

Rotate to align with new surface normals uses the target mesh normals.
Use original orientation in the world space reuses the guide's original rotation values.
