Make Guides Dynamic Options

Attach Curves To Selected Surfaces
When on, the selected curves attach to the nearest selected surface. This option is on by default.

The follicle of the resulting dynamic curve attaches to the nearest point on the surface to the curve’s start CV. If you want to attach the selected curves at their opposite ends instead, select your curves, and then from the Modeling menu set, select Curves > Reverse Curve Direction before making the guides dynamic.

Snap Curve Base to Surface
When on, the start CVs of the dynamic guides curves snap to surface of the bound mesh when converted.

If there are hair curves already attached to the selected surface, the start CVs of the selected curves snap to the surface’s current follicle locations.

Collide With Mesh
Converts the bound mesh to Nucleus passive collision object (nRigid node). As a collision object, the dynamic guides and bound mesh collide when simulated. This option is on by default.

When off, the bound mesh and dynamic guides may intersect during the simulation.

Exact Shape Match
When on, the shape and position of the selected (input) curves and their dynamic (output) curves will match exactly. The output curves inherit the Degrees of their input curves, and they also inherit the number and position of their input curves’ CVs. The input curves are rebuilt as Degree 1 curves. Exact Shape Match is on by default.
Delete Original Guide Data
Locks the inGuide_base node settings so they cannot be modified. In the Interactive Groom Editor the inGuide_base node is dimmed to indicate that the attributes are locked. This option is on by default.

When off, the inGuide_base node values are recomputed during simulation, which may affect performance.
