Use this modifier to preserve the shape of clumps when the surface of the polygon mesh deforms. Otherwise, on deforming surfaces, spline clumps may spread outwards or interpenetrate each other.
Preserve Clumps uses an anim wire to keep the shape of clumps, but does apply animation to the wire. Use Preserve Clumps on fur characters that use the Groom Bake modifier.
Do not use Preserve Clumps on Descriptions that have AnimWire modifiers. The AnimWire modifier overrides the effect of Preserve Clumps.
Lets you control how the modifier affects primitives in specified areas of the surface. For example, use Mask to load or an expressions or create a Ptex map that masks out the effect of the modifier.
Sets the amount that the clumps are preserved for each affected primitive.
