Change node behavior to improve performance

For each object in your scene, if there has been any change to its node or any of the nodes in its history (its input or output nodes), Maya will evaluate the nodes and update the display. If you have many deformed objects in your scene, you can improve the display performance by editing the node behavior attributes of the deformed object nodes.

To set node behavior

  1. Open the node’s Attribute Editor.
  2. In the Attribute Editor, open Node Behavior.

    See General deformer node attributes.

  3. Click Caching on or off.
  4. Select the Node State as Normal, HasNoEffect, or Blocking.
  5. Close the Attribute Editor.
