Working with radial symmetry

Radial symmetry lets you create curves and surfaces around a radial axis. For example, use radial symmetry to model radial shapes such spokes for rims or wheels. All creation tools work with radial symmetry.

  1. Select Radial Symmetry from the Guides menu.

  2. Tap left or right on the tool hand analog stick (Oculus) or D-pad (VIVE) to increase or decrease the number of copies.

Make sure that you tap lightly on the D-pad intead of pressing down to properly increase or decrease the number of copies.

  3. Use the tool hand to position the axis in any direction.

  4. To snap the axis to the X, Y, or Z direction, position it until its changes color from white to red (X axis) blue (Y axis), or green (Z axis).

Tap left or right on the tool hand analog stick (Oculus) or D-pad (VIVE) to cycle through X, Y, or Z placement of the axis.

  5. Pull the trigger to place the axis in location.

  6. Select a creation tool and begin creating with radial symmetry.

    Note:

When moving your radial creation, you need to select two or more of the objects. Otherwise, the creation pulls apart.
