UV Editor Select menu

The items in this menu are also available on a marking menu when you are working in the UV Editor. Press Ctrl + right-click to access them.

All

Selects all the components of the current component mode.

Clear

Unselects everything.

Inverse

Selects all unselected components of the current component mode and vice versa.

Components
Switches between the various component selection modes. Options include Vertex, Edge, Face, UV, UV Shell.
Note: The selection mode carries over to the Viewport.
Back-facing

Display UV winding order

Front-facing

Display UV winding order

Overlapping
  • UVs / Vertices: Those that lie directly on top of one another.
  • UV Shells / Edges / Faces: Those that at least partially overlap with other components of the same type.
Non-Overlapping
  • UVs / Vertices: Those that do not lie directly on top of one another.
  • UV Shells / Edges / Faces: Those that do not even partially overlap with other components of the same type.
Texture Borders

UVs on open ends of the UV shell.

Unmapped faces

Faces without an associated UV mapping.

Shortest Edge Path Tool

Selects the shortest path of edges between two or more selection points (vertices or UVs). The Select Shortest Edge Path Tool determines the most direct path between any two selection points and selects the edges in between.

The Select Shortest Edge Path Tool is particularly well suited to selecting a long and possibly winding path of edges on a mesh when you need to subsequently perform a Cut UV Edges operation.

Grow

Adds all adjacent components of the current type to the current selection.

Grow Along Loop
Adds all adjacent components of the current type to the current selection only along the same edge loop.
Note: For vertices and UVs, two components must be selected along the same edge loop for this to function correctly.
Shrink

Removes one layer of adjacent components of the current type from the current selection.

Shrink Along Loop

Removes one layer of adjacent components of the current type from the current selection only along the same edge loop.

Filter Selection

Alters the current selection based on the options chosen.

Faces of Selected Images

Display only faces associated with the currently selected texture image.

Contained Faces

Display all faces contained by the current selection of UVs, edges, or vertices.

Connected Faces

Highlights all faces that share the currently selected UVs, edges, or vertices.

Convert Selection

Converts the currently selected components to either the specified connected component type or to the components around the selection's perimeter. For more information, see Convert Selection Options.
