After previewing your nParticle simulation in Viewport 2.0, you can render it using Maya Software, or other 3rd party renderers. Some nParticle objects, such as
Thick Clouds and
Water type nParticles, are automatically assigned a shading network for rendering.
To control shader attributes on a per-particle basis, or use the
rgbPP and
opacityPP
attributes in software rendering, create an Particle Sampler Info node.
Important notes about rendering nParticles with the Maya Software render
- To render nParticles with motion blur, consult the documentation provided by your preferred 3rd party renderer. Maya Software rendered particles do not support motion blur.
- If your scene contains
Blobby Surface,
Cloud, or
Tube render types, you can render with the Maya Software renderer or a 3rd party renderer that supports this functionality. See
Maya Software renderer.
- The Maya Software render supports raytraced shadows on
Blobby Surface,
Cloud, or
Tube render types.
