Free edge

An element edge that is not shared by other elements. A free edge has an element attached to only one side. An edge is a line segment that connects two mesh nodes.

For Dual Domain and 3D analysis, free edges should be fixed in the original CAD package or in a suitable model repair tool, such as CADdoctor for Autodesk® Simulation which is sold separately.
