Flatness optimization dialog

This dialog is used to define surfaces that are of particular interest in terms of their manufacturing tolerance. Use these criteria in a DOE or Parametric Study optimization analysis to understand how different process settings affect how these surfaces change shape, following a warp analysis.

To access this dialog, click flatness icon (Optimization tab > Criteria panel > Flatness).

Dialog element	Explanation
Node ID	Ensure the model nodes are visible, by checking the appropriate box in the Layers pane. Select a node on a surface; the node ID appears in this box. If Auto select surface is on, then all the nodes on the same surface are selected automatically, and they all appear listed in this box. If you know the id of a node on the surface of interest, you can type it directly into this box.
Auto select surface	By default, Auto select surface is applied. When you select a surface node, all nodes on the same surface are automatically selected. Click Auto select surface to turn off the autoselect, and select the nodes manually.
Selection name	Enter a unique name that describes the surface you selected, so you can associate it, later, with the appropriate surface.
