Modify your CAD geometry and save your modifications, to include them as variables in a parametric optimization study.
To investigate the impact of modifying a CAD face, or group of faces, create a CAD Modification and include it in a Parametric Study. This variable includes the set of CAD faces to be modified, coupled with the type of modification to be applied (move in the normal direction, or move along a specified vector).
The Parametric Study builder recognizes the changes you make with the CAD geometry editing tools, as variables. Enter a value or range of values that define the distance and/or direction that you wish to move the selected CAD faces. The Parametric Study Optimization routine then creates a study for each value of each variable, meshes the new geometry and runs the specified analysis to provide you with information about how best to optimize your design.
