Updating the Templates directory

You can update the Asset browser Templates directory by appending assets to the Templates root directory so that next time you launch the software, these assets are available in the Asset browser.

To update the Asset browser Templates directory:

1. In the Asset browser, right-click in the browser pane and select Change template directory from the context menu.

   The Open directory dialog box appears.

2. Navigate to and select the desired directory.
3. Click OK.

   The contents of the selected directory are appended to the Templates root directory.

To remove a directory added to the Templates directory:

1. Right-click in the Asset Browser Template directories area and select Change template directory.

The Open directory dialog box appears.

2. Browse to Program Files > Autodesk > MotionBuilderx (where x is the version you are running,) > Templates.
3. Click OK.

The default Template directory is restored.

To refresh the Template directory, right-click in the Template directory and select Refresh directory. This option rereads the directory structure and icons from the file system, updating and redrawing the contents of the Scene browser and its folders.

Select the Refresh directory option, if you notice that the file system is changed but the change does not appear in the Scene browser. For example, you may have renamed a file but the ne file name does not appear in the Scene browser.
