MATERIAL SPECIFIED IN FIELD
field NOT COMPATIBLE WITH FAILURE THEORY
Cause:
A material property was specified on a
PCOMP entry which was not compatible with one of the following failure theories:
- For the LaRC02 and PUCK failure theories a non-unidirectional material was specified. The LaRC02 and PUCK failure theories are only applicable for unidirectional materials and may give inaccurate results if a bi-directional material is specified.
- For the MCT failure theory a
MATL8 entry must be used to define an orthotropic material which references separate matrix and fiber properties.
Action:
Perform the following actions:
- For the LaRC02 and PUCK failure theories either replace the reference with a unidirectional material or change the failure theory.
- For the MCT failure theory either replace the reference with a MATL8 generated orthotropic material or change the failure theory.
Note that the Tsai-Wu failure theory will be substituted for plies that reference a non-compatible material but the failure theory listed in the Model Results Output File will be what was specified on the PCOMP entry.
