Fixes in Navisworks 2023
Navisworks 2023 includes the following fixes:
Clash Detective
- Fixed an issue causing Navisworks to crash when running the Clash Detective on models opened from BIM 360 (NW-55963).
- When clashes are sorted by name, clash group statuses can now be changed successfully without Navisworks crashing (NW-56751).
IFC files
- IFC files using real-world coordinates are now represented correctly in Navisworks (NW-56927).
- Improvements to IFC file reader performance (NW-54433, NW-55315, NW-56679, and NW-56684) and geometry translation (NW-54936 and NW-54944).
- When opening IFC files created in AVEVA E3D, Navisworks now displays all elements correctly (NW-56320 and NW-57395).
- Navisworks now displays geometry and properties correctly for IFC files from Solibri and Tekla (NW-53539 and NW-53705).
- When using the Modern conversion method, openings in IFC files are now correctly hidden by default (NW-57509).
Revit files
- Fixed several issues with the Navisworks exporter in Revit. NWC files can now be exported from Revit, and load correctly in Navisworks when using the shared coordinates option (NW-54671, NW-57691, and NW-57692).
- Linked Revit files in NWC files are no longer incorrectly treated as inserted groups (NW-47917 and NW-47919).
- When importing NWC files from Revit, the alignment of mapped materials is now maintained correctly (NW-53045, NW-53728, NW-55291, NW-55873, NW-56038, and NW-57429).
- Fixed an issue causing an error to appear when loading Revit family files (NW-57583).
- Fixed an issue causing Navisworks to show only wireframe objects and grids in Revit files after a machine has been locked or put into sleep mode (NW-57056).
- Piping insulation is now displayed at the same reference level as the host piping or ductwork when opened in Navisworks (NW-47646).
- Monolithic stairs in Revit files are now correctly displayed as a single element when exported to Navisworks (NW-52710).
Inventor files
- When importing Inventor files into Navisworks, invisible components are no longer imported incorrectly (NW-44759).
- Improved performance when loading IAM files (NW-56932), including those containing a layout (NW-49582 and NW-56055).
- When using the ViewCube, IPT and IAM files now use the same Top view in both Inventor and Navisworks (NW-44156).
- When importing Inventor files, the specified World Up vector is respected in Navisworks (NW-57450).
- Materials applied to models in Inventor now appear correctly in Navisworks (NW-56321).
- Inventor assembly files using custom views now display correctly when the Express mode option is deselected in Navisworks (NW-56147).
- Fixed an issue with the Express Mode option in the Inventor file reader (NW-56563).
SmartPlant 3D files
- Object names in the Selection Tree now correctly reference Microsoft Access MDB files when they are stored with an associated VUE file (NW-57479).
- When using the ViewCube, the view is now correctly rotated and zoomed in to selected geometry in VUE files. This was being caused by end caps not being scaled correctly (NW-57527).
- All elements are now displayed correctly when opening VUE files in Navisworks (NW-57569).
- Fixed an issue causing pipe supports in VUE files to be shown under Structure instead of Piping in the selection tree (NW-57595).
- Fixed an issue causing geometry in VUE files to be represented incorrectly in Navisworks (NW-57157, NW-57338, and NW-57342).
AutoCAD files
- 3D geometry from Civil 3D DWG files now imports correctly (NW-56783).
- DWG files containing 2D polylines are now represented accurately in Navisworks (NW-56712).
- Fixed an issue causing Navisworks to crash when opening DWF files containing user-defined attributes (NW-57516).
- Flow arrows associated with piping in DWG files from Plant 3D are now positioned correctly when opened in Navisworks (NW-42693).
FBX files
- Fixed an issue causing light poles to be incorrectly rotated in FBX files from 3ds Max (NW-57033).
- FBX files appended in Navisworks now correctly maintain their colour (NW-57039).
- When exporting a scene as an FBX file, you can no longer input negative numbers into the Number of Polygons field on the FBX Options dialog box (NW-14980).
Microstation
- NWC files originating from Microstation V8i now display equipment in the correct positions when imported into Navisworks (NW-56155).
- Geometry in DGN files loaded from Microstation now appears correctly in Navisworks (NW-57247, NW-57434 and NW-57519).
- Item Types applied to objects in Microstation V8i are now displayed on tabs in the Properties window in Navisworks (NW-57297).
Security
Licensing
- Fixed issues causing Navisworks to hang or display an error message when trying to access network license settings (NW-57548) or the License Transfer Utility (NW-57539).
- Navisworks now correctly frees up a network license seat when it enters idle mode (NW-56778).
Crashes
- Fixed an issue causing Navisworks to crash on machines running Windows 11 (NW-57584).
- Fixed an issue causing Navisworks to crash when using the Coordination Issues Add-in. With the Issues panel open and a clash selected, trying to start a new Navisworks session would cause a crash (NW-57575).
- Fixed an issue causing Navisworks to crash when loading ReCap files (NW-48239).
- Fixed an issue causing Navisworks to crash when opening DGN files using the Convert Triforma Data option (NW-57203).
- Fixed issues causing Navisworks to crash when left idle for a long period, or when locking and unlocking the screen (NW-53496 and NW-57075).
Other
- Navisworks now runs correctly when loading multiple custom plug-ins (NW-54969).
- Improved error handling when saving an NWF or NWD file that references a missing PDF (NW-53822).
- When exporting CSV files from the Selection Inspector, the data is now formatted correctly (NW-57576).
- Options in the Sign In drop-down list, on the InfoCenter toolbar, now display correctly (NW-57463 and NW-57541).
- Fixed issues with Navisworks Exporters installation (NW-57515) and help content loading (NW-56523, NW-56569 and NW-57540).
- Material textures are now displayed correctly for OBJ files (NW-56905).
- Fixed an issue causing the Autodesk Vault Add-in to initialize multiple times (NW-56392).
