Start and Exit Autodesk Navisworks

Once you’ve installed Autodesk Navisworks, you can start it from the Windows desktop or from the command line.

By default, Navisworks starts in the language that best matches the settings on your computer. You can also start Navisworks in another of the installed languages.

Note: You can add command line switches to specify different startup routines for the program. See Command Line Options.

Start Autodesk Navisworks

To open Navisworks, you can either:

Run Navisworks in Another Language

To run Autodesk Navisworks in another language you can either install Navisworks with a standalone installer, use a custom install from the Autodesk Account, or switch between languages. To switch between languages:

  1. Right-click the Navisworks shortcut icon on your desktop and click Properties on the context menu to open the Navisworks Properties dialog box.
  2. On the Shortcut tab, enter a space in the Target field after ..\roamer.exe, and then enter one of the following arguments:
    • -lang en-US for English localization
    • -lang de-DE for German localization
    • -lang es-ES for Spanish localization
    • -lang fr-FR for French localization
    • -lang it-IT for Italian localization
    • -lang ja-JP for Japanese localization
    • -lang ko-KR for Korean localization
    • -lang pt-BR for Brazilian Portuguese localization
    • -lang ru-RU for Russian localization
    • -lang zh-CN for Chinese (PRC) localization
    • -lang zh-TW for Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) localization
  3. Click OK to save the changes.
  4. Start Navisworks.

Exit Autodesk Navisworks

  1. Click the application button on the Navisworks ribbon.

  2. At the bottom of the application menu, click Exit Navisworks.

    If changes were made to the current project, you are prompted to save the changes. To save the changes to the project, click Yes. To continue exiting and discard the changes, click No. To return to Navisworks, click Cancel.
