Work With the Selection Inspector

Inspect a Selection

  1. Click an object in the Scene View or in the Selection Tree. Alternatively, click a Selection Set or a Search Set.
  2. Click Home tab > Select & Search panel > Selection Inspector .

Save a Selection

  1. Select all the objects that you want to save in the Scene View or on the Selection Tree. Alternatively, click a Selection Set or a Search Set.

  2. Click Home tab > Select & Search panel > Selection Inspector . Alternatively, right-click an item in the Selection Tree window > Selection Inspector.

  3. Click Save Selection.

    Note: You can also save a selection set by clicking Save Selection in the Sets window. See Create and Manage Selection and Search Sets.

Export a Selection

  1. Click an object in the Scene View or on the Selection Tree. Alternatively, click a Selection Set or a Search Set.

  2. Click Home tab > Select & Search panel > Selection Inspector .

  3. Deselect any objects you do not want to include in the exported file.

    Note: By default, all files that are displayed in the Selection Inspector window are exported into the file.
  4. Click Export > Export CSV.

  5. In the Export to CSV dialog box, browse to the desired folder, and enter the name for the new file, then click Save.

Deselect an object

  1. In the Selection Inspector Window , click Deselect for the objects or groups that you want to remove from the selection.

Zoom a Selection

  1. In the Selection Inspector window , click Show Item for the object or group of objects that you want to zoom.

Add a Quick Properties Definition

  1. Select an object in the Scene View or on the Selection Tree. Alternatively, click a Selection Set or a Search Set.

  2. Click Home tab > Select & Search panel > Selection Inspector .

  3. Click Quick Property Definitions.

  4. In the Options Editor dialog box, adjust the property definitions, then click OK.

    Note: Adding Quick Properties enables you to view property information in a tooltip style window as you move your cursor over objects in the Scene View (see Quick Properties for more details).
