Use the
Projection range page to specify a manual projection range when the automatic projection range is not suitable for complex parts.
Projection range
Automatic — Automatically determines the projection range. This option is suitable for most complex parts.
Manual — Manually specify the projection range by specifying a minimum and a maximum distance. Useful for more complex parts whereby the
Automatic option projects geometry that you do not want to machine. By specifying a minimum and maximum distance, you can bypass the unintended geometry in the projection to focus solely on the geometry you want to machine.
- Minimum Distance — The distance away from the reference where the projection should begin.
- Maximum Distance — The distance away from the reference where the projection should end.
The distance between the
Minimum Distance (a) and the
Maximum Distance (b) is the region where the projection occurs and the area over which the toolpath is generated.
