Use the Tools menu to create and manage tools in the current project.
To display the menu, in the Explorer, right-click Tools:
Tools — The name of this menu.
Create Tool — Select to display a menu showing the different tool types available. For more information see Tool dialog.
Tool Names — Select to specify the template used to name new tools.
This controls the naming convention used when creating multiple entities.
Enter the name of the template prefix you want to insert, and then click . This displays the prefix on the menu. New tools use this prefix.
Tool Names > Rename: None — When displayed, does not add a prefix to all new tool names.
Tool Names > Rename: prefix— When displayed, adds a prefix to all new tool names.
Folder Names — Select to specify the template used for all new folders.
These menu options control the naming convention used when creating multiple folders.
Enter the name of the template prefix you want to insert, and then click . This displays the prefixon the menu. New folders use this prefix.
Folder Names > Rename: None — When displayed, PowerMill does not add a prefix to new folder names.
Folder Names > Rename: prefix— When displayed, PowerMill adds the prefix to new folder names.
Deactivate — Select to deactivate the currently active tool.
Draw All —Select to display all the tools on the screen .
Undraw All — Select to hide all tools on the screen .
Shaded — Select to display a shaded tool when selected and a wireframe tool when deselected.
Draw Shank — When selected, draws the tool tip and shank. When deselected, the shank and holder are not displayed.
Draw Holder — When selected, draws the tool tip, shank and holder. When deselected, the holder is not displayed.
Create Folder — Select to create a folder so you can organise entities in the Explorer. You can rename a folder in the normal way and drag and drop entities into it. See Explorer for more information.
Add All Tools to Database — Select to add the tools in the project to the active tool database. This displays the Tool Database Export dialog.
Change Tool Stock Material — Select to specify the stock material for tools in the current project. This displays the Tool Stock Material dialog.
Delete All — Select to delete all the tools that are not used in a toolpath.
