If you have a 2.5D machining example with
Horizontal Arc Lead In
moves then it is difficult to apply cutter compensation, as this can only operate on linear moves (and not circular ones). Extensions let you add a
Straight
lead, prior to the
Lead In, over which distance the cutter compensation can take effect.
Using the
pockets.tri
example with a
Constant Z
toolpath with a 10 mm end mill tool.
- Click Home tab > Toolpath Setup panel > Toolpath Connections to display the
Toolpath connections dialog.
- Select the
Lead ins tab.
- Enter:
- a
1st Choice
of
Horizontal Arc.
- an
Angle of
90.
- a
Radius of
10.
- click on the
Copy to Lead Out button.
- Select a
Lead in extension of
Straight and enter:
- a
Distance
of
10.
- an
Angle
of
90.
- On the
Lead outs tab select a
Lead out extension
of Straight and enter:
- a
Distance
of
10.
- an
Angle
of
90.
- Click
Apply or
Accept.
